After much thought we have decided to shut down iOnMac. None of the admins have the time or energy to continue to make iOM what it could and should be. It is with sadness that we close down but I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of the members who have supported us through the years. You were all the reason we were here and you helped make iOM a fun place to hang out and discuss our similarities and our differences. I wish you all the best in whatever life brings your way and I hope we cross paths again on this information super highway.

Yesterday, Apple announced that we will finally be seeing the true developer SDK in early 2008. What does this mean for us iPhone users? Third party apps! No longer will we need to hack our devices to enjoy apps other than those that Apple has provided us with. I’m sure I speak for a lot of us when I say that this can’t come soon enough.

“Leopard, the sixth major release of Mac OS X, is the best upgrade we’ve ever released,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “And everyone gets the ‘Ultimate’ version, packed with all the new innovative features, for just $129.”
You can now pre-order Leopard at Apples online store.
As you may have heard, Al Gore recently won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in educating us all on climate change. What you may not know is that Mr. Gore is on the Board of Directors at Apple. To show their pride, they’ve put up an image with their thoughts on his accomplishment.
Microsoft have recently released an update for Word 2004.
“This update fixes a vulnerability in Word 2004 that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code.”
Either load up Microsoft Office Auto Update or you can download it here in a range of languages.
